The building is a dominant structure of Liběchov in the picturesque region of Kokořín, 8km from Mělník and a mere 30 minutes drive from Prague. The Kokořín valley is a favoured destination for Prague's citizens and artists, especially because of its temperate and healthy climate, a rich historical background, overwhelming sandstone cliffs, romantic cycle routes and tour paths.

Hotel History - The hotel is a reconstructed 1930s villa, built in art deco style by architect Josef Lauerman. Factory owner Moučka of Prague, who had it built for his wife, commissioned it. It was confiscated by the Wehrmacht during the second World War, returned to its owners following the war's end, only to be confiscated again by the communist regime in 1948. It was returned to the descendants of the initial owner in the restitution of 2002. In the meantime, the villa served as Prague's training centre and as an educational facility. The reconstruction of the villa preserved the architectural art deco style both in the interior and exterior, as the oak parquets, wooden balustrades, stucco ceilings, forged metal railings and a marble fireplace command respect for olden craftsmanship.
